The Marian Center School and Services was founded over 45 years ago in 1964 through the vision of Archbishop Coleman Carroll and the devotion of the Sisters of St. Joseph Cottolengo who arrived from Italy on October 21,1963. Located on a beautiful 50 acre campus in Miami Gardens, the Marian Center, through its dedicated Sisters and lay staff, continues to carry out its mission to “educate, train and serve persons with a developmental disability and assist them to wholeness, pursuant to the dictates of the Gospel and of the Church’s call to love, charity and justice.”
The Marian Center today includes: a fully accredited school for students ages 6 – 21; an adult day training and work program; a full-time residential cottage for women. Each of these programs welcomes students from all races, religions and backgrounds and provides partial or full financial aid to all those who qualify – currently over 80% of the student population receives some form of assistance.
